Fiji Foxface – Small
The Fiji Foxface has a half black and half yellow body. The “nose” is long and they have a venomous row of dorsal spines. The Fiji Foxface is an attractive addition to a community marine aquarium that also works hard to earn its keep – the Fiji Foxface is an excellent algae eater. These fish help to control nuisance algae like hair algae and will also trim ornamental macro-algae like Caulerpa. Foxface are peaceful fish but are easily frightened by aggressive or very active fish. They can be kept with most other community fish like damsels, gobies, tangs, clownfish and fish with a similar temperament. They are not fussy eaters and will accept most prepared or frozen foods. Be sure to provide plenty of algae to keep your foxface healthy. Take care when working with or around this fish as the spines along its dorsal fin are venomous.
