The Zebra Moray is named for its striking black and white stripes. It is a relatively docile eel, which may become accustomed to being hand fed. It may feed on live foods like shrimp and fish or on larger frozen meaty foods such as clam shrimp or silversides. Zebra Morays are among some of the shyer moray eels and have been known to refuse food for the first days or even weeks in a new tank. Its size requires plenty of space and rock or tubing is preferred in the tank. The Zebra Moray, like all eels, is an escape risk. A tight-fitting lid is essential.
